As CEO, Kari is responsible for leading the Tesco business in the Republic of Ireland, having joined in 2018.
Kari has a career spanning over 30 years in FMCG, manufacturing and retail roles in both Commercial and Marketing functions. In her 19 years at Tesco, she has held several senior commercial and marketing roles in the UK and Europe including Director of Brand in UK Marketing. Prior to Tesco she was a commercial director at Superdrug and spent 6 years in FMCG brand marketing at Wella and SC Johnson, having started her career in clothing at Arcadia.
In addition to leading the business in Ireland, Kari also leads Tesco Ireland’s sustainability strategy, the Little Helps Plan, our ambitions regarding packaging reduction and is a passionate supporter of Diversity & Inclusion in the workplace.
Chief Operating Officer
As COO, Geoff is responsible for developing Tesco Ireland’s operational strategy and building capability, while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Irish business to include the business’ property portfolio and footprint. Geoff has worked in Tesco for over 30 years and has held a variety of lead roles across retail, people and project-based management functions of the business. In June 2014, he assumed his current position as Chief Operating Officer. Geoff also leads the company’s climate change work including environmental and energy management across our network, as part of our Little Helps Plan sustainability programme. Additionally, Geoff holds the chair of the Tesco Mobile Ireland board.
As Legal Director, Sarah is responsible for overseeing the legal and compliance functions across Tesco Ireland’s business.
Sarah joined Tesco in 2012 as Legal Director. Prior to joining Tesco, she spent four years at Eircom as Director of Commercial Legal Services. Sarah also champions health and safety under our Little Helps Plan sustainability strategy.
As Commercial Director, Joe is responsible for ensuring the integrated commercial success of the business in Ireland. Having worked across a variety of commercial roles in Ireland and the UK for Cadbury/Mondelez International, Joe joined Tesco in 2014 as Ambient Category Director, before assuming the role of Fresh Director in April 2017. Joe was then appointed Commercial Director in 2018. In addition to the commercial strategy, Joe oversees Sourcing and Food Waste elements of our Little Helps Plan, supplier relationships and our support of Irish agribusiness.
As Marketing Director, Ruairi is responsible for overseeing the planning, development and execution of Tesco’s customer marketing initiatives.
Ruairi joined Tesco as Marketing Director in 2017 and has worked in the industry for over 20 years. Ruairi brings considerable global digital, brand and retail experience to Tesco having previously lead marketing organizations in Canada, Nigeria, New York and most recently in Colorado, USA. Ruairi also leads Tesco Ireland’s Diversity & Inclusion council.
As Finance Director, Scott is responsible for overseeing financial forecasting, budgeting and planning for Tesco Ireland.He has worked for Tesco since 2012 including his most recent role as Customer Finance Director in Tesco UK. Scott brings a wealth of experience to the finance and leadership teams from his various roles across the business.
