Tesco Ireland proud to celebrate Dublin Pride

On Saturday 24th June over 150 Tesco colleagues from across Ireland will for the first time join in the annual Dublin Pride festival by marching in the parade alongside their partners, friends and families.

A 40-foot Tesco delivery truck will act as a float in the Pride parade featuring its own DJ, dance floor, bubble machines, and a crowd cheerometer on board. Tesco colleagues will handout sweets, ponchos and rainbow roses along the parade route while decked out in their bespoke “Bursting with Pride” F&F T-shirts.

Nine Tesco stores along the Dublin parade route will also turn the iconic Tesco chevrons to the rainbow colours of Pride for the weekend to show their support. 11 Tesco stores across Dublin city centre will also display rainbow bunting and posters, as well as selling rainbow roses to celebrate the festival.

Geraldine Casey, People Director at Tesco Ireland said:  “We know that Dublin Pride is such a fun and vibrant event and we’re really proud that over 150 of our colleagues will be taking part in the parade with our stores along the route getting into the spirit too with special Pride-themed branding and Pride in-store activations.”

The Parade will start at Stephen’s Green South and end in Smithfield Square where there will be family fun at the Pride Village.

Tesco Ireland is also helping to keep spirits up for parade stewards by donating 3,000 bottles of water and fresh bananas for the celebrations at the Pride Village while the hardworking volunteer stewards will also receive generous Tesco lunch bags on the day.

The Dublin Pride Parade takes place on Saturday 24th June commencing at 2pm.
