Tesco Ireland aims to raise €150,000 for Temple Street this Christmas
€3million and counting raised for Temple Street Children's University Hospital since 2014
Wednesday 6th December 2017: Tesco stores across the country will be bringing a little magic to their customers this December by selling festive inspired products in aid of Temple Street Children’s University Hospital, with the retailer expecting to raise €150,000.
Tesco is proud to announce that €1 from the sale of each fresh Turkey in all stores and online this Christmas will be donated to Temple Street. Tesco customers and colleagues will also be able to support the little heroes of Temple Street by purchasing some festive favourites including Christmas Sandwiches, Reindeer Food and festive bouquets.
All funds raised this Christmas will go towards purchasing 60 new beds for the hospital ensuring that the most suitable and the highest standard of beds are available for the 148,000 patients who come through the doors each year.
To date, with the support of its colleagues and customers Tesco Ireland has raised €3 million for Temple Street in three years.
Christine Heffernan, Corporate Affairs Director Tesco Ireland, said: “We are so proud that our Charity Partnership has raised €3million and counting for Temple Street to date. Our selection of festive favourite products are a popular and easy way for customers and colleagues alike to support the hospitals fundraising needs all while bringing families together for magical moments this Christmas.”
Denise Fitzgerald, CEO of the Temple Street Foundation, added: "We’re so thrilled to be part of Tesco's Christmas activities once again this year and we're hugely grateful to Tesco colleagues and customers for their on-going support that continues to make such a positive difference to the lives of our little patients and their families. It couldn’t be easier to get involved this festive season and help our special hospital by supporting Tesco’s fantastic fundraising initiatives in-store.”
Tesco’s Festive Products include:

This Christmas, for every fresh turkey you buy, we’ll donate €1 to our charity partner Temple Street. This is just one of the ways we’re helping to raise money for the little heroes this Christmas.
Tesco’s Reindeer food has become a firm favourite in households across the country in recent years. Priced at just €2 and with all proceeds going to Temple Street, it is a magical mixture of oats and glitter that can be spread on the lawn to help guide reindeers to your home on Christmas Eve, oats kindly donated by Whites.
You can give your host the perfect gift this festive season with Tesco’s Christmas themed floral bouquet in aid of Temple Street. The beautiful bouquet is an ideal gift for your host this festive season and contains a combination of happy pink mini gerbera, with a mix of purple, pink and white chrysanthemums with some beautiful touches of frosted pine-cones, decorative scented cinnamon sticks and glittered foliage. These bouquets are available in stores nationwide and a donation of €1.00 per bouquet sold will be made to Temple Street.
