Tesco Ireland Ballina Store Update

21st February 2020 - Tesco Ireland has today confirmed it has finalised discussions with Mayo County Council in relation to the upgrade of its store in Ballina. Subject to planning approval, both parties have agreed on an overall scheme which will see an extensive enhancement of the store exterior, a store extension and new car parking facilities. Tesco Ireland will now prepare to submit a planning application. The interior of the store will also receive a complete remodel,  with new and upgraded facilities, which will enhance the in-store experience for colleagues and customers.

Commenting, Geoff Byrne, Chief Operating Officer at Tesco Ireland said, “We are pleased to have had successful discussions with Mayo County Council in relation to our store plans and look forward to moving to the next phase of submitting a planning application, as quickly as possible.

Subject to permission, these significant store enhancements will vastly improve the appearance of, and experience in, our Ballina store for both our colleagues and our customers.

 Ballina is a key part of our overall store footprint in Co. Mayo and we are hopeful that the planning process can proceed as swiftly as possible.”
