Truly Irish Country Foods secures listing in 60 Tesco stores
Truly Irish Country Foods has secured a listing in 60 Tesco Ireland stores for Truly Irish Creamery Butter. Established in 2008, the farmer-owned business supports over 8,000 jobs and was setup by pig producers throughout the island of Ireland to give farmers full control of their products from farm to market. Truly Irish already supplies Tesco stores with a range of premium pork products. Truly Irish Butter is a natural product produced by traditional churning. Traditional small batch production ensures the butter is a natural source of calcium, protein & nutrients and free from artificial colourings, flavourings and additives.
Mike Mc Auliffe CEO of Truly Irish commented “We are absolutely delighted that that Truly Irish premium natural butter will be available in 60 Tesco stores throughout Ireland. The launch of our Truly Irish Butter product was a natural progression for the company as some of our farmer shareholders are also Dairy & Beef Producers. We hope to expand our range over time while standing by our motto to ‘absolutely refuse to compromise quality for profit’. We’re hoping to grow our business with Tesco and in time look to supply Tesco stores in the UK which would be a real game changer for our business. ”
Tesco Ireland recently launched a comprehensive report, conducted by independent international economists Indecon, into Tesco Ireland’s impact on the Irish economy. Testament to Tesco’s on-going support of the Irish agri-food sector, the report’s key findings demonstrate that Tesco is the world’s biggest buyer of Irish food and drink and is responsible for nearly 47,000 jobs; employing 14,500 people directly in 149 stores, head office and depot and supporting a further 32,180 jobs in its supply chain. 100% of the fresh lamb, beef, pork, eggs and milk Tesco sells is Irish and the report confirmed that Tesco now works with over 480 small and medium Irish local suppliers and over 13,000 Irish farm families supply their produce to Tesco.
