The Tesco Ireland Charity Partner Programme gives our colleagues and customers the chance to pool their strengths and support a cause that is close to their hearts. We started our Charity Partner Programme in 2001 and, to date, through the generosity and fundraising of Tesco colleagues, customers and their local communities, Tesco Ireland has raised over €18 million for good causes and charities in Ireland.
In October 2014 we announced Temple Street Children’s University Hospital as our new Charity Partner. Our amazing colleagues have helped raise over €4.3 million euros for the hospital so far, and due to the success of our fundraising we have decided to partner for the children's hospital for three years.
The charity partnership sees the funds raised by Tesco colleagues, customers and Temple Street supporters used specifically to help the children’s hospital to purchase life-saving medical equipment for its patients. Each year Temple Street, an acute paediatric hospital, treats over 145,000 children from across the country and operates the busiest A&E department in Europe.
