Farmbake signs contract with Tesco Ireland

Deal means over one million Farmbake cakes and treats will be sold annually in 148 Tesco Ireland stores

Thursday, 29th January 2015: Farmbake, an Irish owned and operated family run cake distribution business, has signed a deal with Tesco Ireland to supply its tasty and affordable range of cakes and treats to all Tesco Ireland stores. 

Farmbake began supplying products to 28 Tesco stores last year and the contract has now been extended to allow for distribution to all Tesco Ireland stores across the country.The new contract will bring the number of Farmbake products sold in Tesco stores to just over one million units annually.

A large selection of Farmbake’s portfolio of 40 cake and treat options will now be available in Tesco Ireland stores all year round, while additional seasonal lines will be offered at key times during the year such as St. Patrick’s Day, Easter and Christmas.With a focus on quality, value and convenience, favourites in the Farmbake range include Almond Fingers, Assorted Fruit Tarts, Assorted Queen Cakes, Mini Battenbergs, Bakewell Tarts, Apple Turnovers and family size Fruit Cakes and Swiss Rolls.

Farmbake is managed by father and son team Jim and Alan Divney and employs 32 people across the country from their state of the art headquarters in Naas, Co. Kildare. As well as supplying all 148 Tesco Ireland stores, the company also distributes the Farmbake range to a host of other leading retailers and utilises a fleet of 22 trucks to deliver product directly to 2,500 stores across the country on a daily basis.The company is also the distributor of choice for a number of other leading convenience cake brands including Mr. Kipling, Cadbury cakes, Coolmore, Gateaux and Balconi. Distribution of third party brands accounts for 40% of the company’s business.
