LET’S BAKE IT HAPPEN! Tesco AND TEMPLE STREET CALL ON THE nation to take part in virtual great irish bake TO RAISE much ‘kneaded’ DOUGH for THE HOSPITAL

  • Tesco Ireland to donate proceeds from home baking category across ALL stores and online on Friday, 5th June
  • Members of the public encouraged to join in from home and text a donation of €4 to 50300

3rd June 2020: Flour power at the ready! Tesco Ireland is calling on amateur and star bakers up and down the country to sieve the dream and take part in a virtual edition of the hugely popular “Great Irish Bake” from home this Friday, 5th June 2020 to raise much needed funds for CHI at Temple Street.

The retailer and proud supporter of Temple Street is calling on all bakers and sweet tooth-takers to get involved and bake their favourite recipe at home while making a €4 donation to Temple Street by texting TEMPLE to 50300 while doing so. Those who share a screenshot of their donation on social media and tag @TescoIrl and @Temple_Street will be entered in a draw to win a €500 Tesco giftcard and a KitchenAid stand mixer.

100% of your donation goes to Children's health Ireland at Temple Street across most network providers. Some operators apply VAT which means a minimum of €3.25 will go to Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street. Service provider: LIKECHARITY. Helpline 076 6805278

As its long-term charity partner, Tesco is also supporting the virtual fundraiser by donating the proceeds from the sales of its home baking products across ALL stores and online on Friday, 5th June to help raise funds for Temple Street.

Kari Daniels, CEO, Tesco Ireland said: “The Great Irish Bake has always been a standout fundraising moment for our partnership with Temple Street led by our colleagues. We are doing things a little differently this year but that doesn’t mean it will be less important to our fundraising efforts. We’re encouraging people around Ireland to sprinkle a bit of joy in the kitchen while making a small donation to Temple Street that will go a very long way because now, more than ever, every little helps.”

To date, Tesco colleagues and customers across Ireland have raised over €5 million for Temple Street over the past five years, helping to purchase a host of vital equipment for the hospital’s theatres, wards, laboratories and intensive care units.

Each year Temple Street treats over 147,000 children from across the country. For thousands of children, Temple Street is the only hospital in Ireland they can be treated in. Through the charity partner programme, Tesco colleagues and customers can help sick kids from all over Ireland get better and be real life heroes to children attending the hospital.
