Tesco Ireland completes €1 million refit of its Dundrum Town Centre Store

Store services now include F&F clothing, Tesco Mobile fixtures and new Smokin’ Bean coffee station

28th August 2020 - Tesco Ireland has completed the refit of its Dundrum Town Centre store adding new services including F&F clothing and enhanced Tesco Mobile area for customers in the South Dublin area. The new services and complete refit are a result of €1million investment in the store to ensure a better shopping experience for customers.

Tesco customers in Dundrum will also have access to the Scan as You Shop facility in-store. As well as being able to track their spend as they do their weekly shop, particularly now with Covid-19 in mind, customers want to navigate the shop quickly and Scan as You Shop offers just that.

Geoff Byrne, Chief Operating Officer at Tesco Ireland said “We’re pleased to have completed the refit and improvements to our Dundrum Town Centre store with the customer shopping experience firmly in mind.

Customers can now enjoy dedicated F&F clothing and Tesco Mobile areas, as well as our new Smokin’ Bean coffee station, knowing that they can continue to shop the new services, safely in light of the measures we have put in place due to Covid-19.

We are very thankful to our colleagues and customers for their patience and support as we all worked to respond to Covid-19, all the time reviewing operations to introduce measures to protect health and safety in line with public health advice.”

To date, the Dundrum Town Centre store has contributed over €40,000 to local projects as part of the Tesco Community Fund. In recent times it has supported fundraising efforts for Making Connections, Ballinteer Isolation Support Group and Friends of the Elderly; all supporting those most vulnerable in communities during Covid-19.

As part of Tesco’s food surplus distribution programme, in partnership with FoodCloud, the Dundrum store has donated over 46,000 meals since 2014. The local causes donated to include Allen Cross Community Association, Dalkeith Storehouse, Crosscare Dundrum and Muslim Sisters of Eire.
